Frequently asked questions

Who is this program designed for?

This program is intended for individuals experiencing concussion symptoms beyond three weeks after injury, including those dealing with symptoms for months or even years.

Is this program for acute or recent concussions?

This program is generally not intended for individuals in the early acute phase of concussion (within the first three weeks). In select cases, individuals with a recent concussion may be appropriate if they have a history of prior concussions that never fully resolved and the current injury has triggered persistent symptoms.

Do you offer virtual/phone consultations for concussion recovery?

Yes, we offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation to determine if CCRP is right for you.

How long does the program take?

This is a short-term, focused program, not ongoing or indefinite care. The goal is to create meaningful progress efficiently rather than keeping people in long-term treatment.

Is the care hands-on?

Yes. This program involves a hands-on approach with manual therapy directed at the head, neck, and upper cervical region.

What is the focus of treatment?

Care focuses on assessing and addressing how the head and upper cervical spine are functioning, with the intention of supporting normal neurological function rather than simply managing symptoms.

What is the glymphatic system and why does it matter?

The glymphatic system is the brain’s waste-clearance system. Following concussion, this system may not function as efficiently. This program aims to support normal cranial and upper cervical mechanics with the intention of positively influencing cerebrospinal fluid movement and glymphatic flow.

Will this make my symptoms worse?

Care is delivered carefully and intentionally, with close attention to individual response. A consultation is used to determine whether this approach is appropriate before starting care.

Is this program covered by insurance?

This program is a specialized concussion recovery service and is not billed directly through insurance. Coverage varies by individual plan, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.

How do I book an appointment?

All appointments are booked through Coast Therapy using their online scheduling system or by calling the clinic directly. This website is for informational purposes only.

Where is care provided?

All in-person care is provided at Coast Therapy in East Vancouver within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

How do I know if this program is right for me?

A consultation is the best way to determine whether this program is an appropriate fit based on your history, symptoms, and goals.
